STARS (Across the Universe)

From October 16th to 20th the INAF-Osservatorio Astonomico di Capodimonte, in Naples, hosted the congress “STARS (Across the Universe)”. The meeting brought together scientists from different countries, with a large participation of the Italian stellar astrophysical community, allowing discussion of the state-of-art in the field, as well as a description of present and future projects. It has been a good moment to exchange ideas within the stellar community and to promote new collaborations.
The Solar and Space Physics group of the University of Rome Tor Vergata contributed to the scientific discussion with two posters, one by Valentina Penza and one by Raffaele Reda, as well as with the talk by Maria Pia Di Mauro, partially based on the Raffaele’s PhD thesis results. Maintaining a connection between solar and stellar physics is important since the Sun is our nearest star and it is the only one that we can observe and study with details not reachable for other stars.
